kaitlin + morgan's engagement
While in Alaska the last couple weeks we had the awesome opportunity to not only be there for my cousin's proposal, but we were able to shoot the newly engaged couple's session as well! Kaitlin + Morgan will be married this January in Moscow, Idaho and I am excited to capture their wedding day :)
Morgan planned such an awesome proposal for Kaitlin and I have to share it with you! First, a little background info ... Morgan met Kaitlin last year at the University of Idaho where they are both in the musical department. Kaitlin is a piano performance major and Morgan is in guitar performance. Needless to say, these two both love music and are a perfect fit! Now to the proposal story ... Morgan wrote a song for Kaitlin (the song I used for their slideshow - check it out!) and worked with a local videographer to create a music video of himself singing the song. Kaitlin arrived in Alaska on Friday morning (July 3rd) and on Friday afternoon Morgan asked her to go to the movie theater and watch Transformers with him. Kaitlin reluctantly agreed since it was a gorgeous, sunny day in Alaska and her first day to visit with the family! They arrived at the theater, bought their tickets, and sat down right when the previews started. Suddenly the previews faded away and Morgan's music video started on the screen! When the song ended Morgan got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, Kaitlin said yes, and all of us (the fam and friends) were waiting out in the lobby when they walked out - it was perfect! Since the theater wasn't yet open for the day, Morgan organized "extras" to be there at the right time to make it look like it was! There were people buying popcorn, playing video games, and even sitting in the theater that Transformers was supposed to play in. During the previews everyone sitting in the theater slowly left leaving Kaitlin and Morgan alone when his video started. The entire plan worked seamlessly :)

baby rowan
Jeremy and I just got home today from an amazing two weeks in Alaska! Our time was filled with so many awesome family events ... an engagement, baby shower, bridal shower, my cousin's wedding, retirement party for my grandma & grandpa, and last but definitely not least, our nephew's birth! We were praying that I could be there for the birth and little Rowan came just in time on Monday afternoon - God is so good!!! :)
A few hours before heading to the airport yesterday I grabbed a few shots of baby Rowan two days old. Isn't he just adorable??? My sister, Jaime, made the hat that Rowan is wearing in the last few pics :)

janelle's maternity session
Last week my sister and I headed out to a little patch of fireweed to take a few shots of her 9 month belly! Less than a week after the shoot our brand new nephew, baby Rowan, was born here in Alaska and I was so blessed to be here for the birth. Pictures of the adorable baby boy will be coming soon, but here are a few of his mommy :) Congrats Janelle + Derek - we love you!
